Job Description:
PSW is looking for an energetic senior accountant with the drive
and motivation to lead the accounting and payroll functions of the
Finance Department and impact the organization by proposing and
implementing process improvements in a rapidly growing company. The
successful candidate has a solid understanding of accounting
principles, is highly dependable, proactive, and organized with a
strong attention to detail.Summary / Objective: This position will
perform accounting and payroll functions such as accounts payable,
accounts receivable, payroll and tax preparation. The position
reports to the Director of Finance and prepares a variety of
financial reports to support organizational strategies and goals.
Ensures the integrity of all accounting information by recording,
verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. The Senior
Accountant must abide by all Human Resources Principles and
objectives including confidentiality, projecting a positive
impression of the company and ensuring a respectful atmosphere is
maintained at all times.Essential Functions: Leads general
accounting and payroll functions of all companies* Formulates and
administers approved accounting practices throughout the
organization to ensure that financial and operating reports
accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide
reliable information necessary to control operations.* Maintains
the general ledger.* In collaboration with the Finance Director,
develops and maintains updated policies and procedures for all
accounting and payroll functions including, but not limited to,
accounting controls, revenue cycle management, procurement, and
payroll processes.* Processes accounts receivable, generates
invoices, tracks payment, records required journal entries and
review and approve A/P entries from other finance staff.* Processes
accounts payable invoices, ensures proper documentation and
approvals are obtained, review and approve A/R entries from other
finance staff.* Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices
associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged
to the appropriate accounts.* Ensure timely and accurate processing
of payroll for all employees* Ensure timely and accurate filing of
necessary tax forms with federal, state, and local government
agencies.* Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices
and procedures.* Prepare depreciation and other fixed asset-related
entry adjustments* Work with Director of Finance to prepare audit
schedules, gathers necessary account information and documents to
perform audits (Financial, Tax and MA Plans) and resolve audit
issues identified by external auditors.Completes monthly close
process * Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies
deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.* Reconciles cash
disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other
financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.*
Prepares monthly balance sheets, cash flow, and profit and loss
statements and other reports or schedules as requested by the
Director of Finance.Maintains Financial Accounting Software*
Maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance
the accounting software.* Manages the purchasing and invoicing
system.* Sets up new accounts as needed* Maintains interface with
payroll, budget, and other systems as neededProvides expert
content/professional leadership on complex Accounting/Financial
Reporting assignments/projects.Participate as a proactive team
member of the Finance Department* Proactive in the resolution of
issues* Exceed internal and external customer's expectations by
providing professional and personalized service at all times.*
Continue own education by staying informed of industry trends and
actively participating in professional development* Continuously
review assigned areas of responsibility and give suggestions to the
Director on how to enhance service/products.* Actively collaborates
with other financial team members to assess needs and proactively
leverage subject matter expertise improve financial performance and
decision making.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Strong analytical and
accounting skills* Exceptional knowledge of Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting
principles.* Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best
practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations*
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software
packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting. NetSuite
preferred. Experience with a software system implementation a plus*
Proactive team player, strong follow through, quick decision-making
abilities and ability to problem solve.* Interpersonal skills, with
the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.* Strong
communication skills (oral, written, presentation) with both
external and internal customers.* Strong organizational, time
management and prioritization skills.* Self-starter. Ability to
prioritize given changing conditions and keep to projected
schedules* Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects
simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.* Proficient in the
use of MS Excel including Pivot Tables, intermediate functions such
as VLOOKUP and SUMIF, data filters, and charts.* Set a positive
example by displaying a pleasant, approachable demeanor and
remaining friendly and courteous at all times.* Excellent computer
proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) including being
able to effectively maintain written and computer records in
accordance with regulatory agencies.Supervisory Responsibility: *
This position has a no direct reports and supervisory

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited
university.* Minimum of three (3) years of accounting or financial
experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.* Experience in
consolidated financials for multiple companies and lines of
business.Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: * Master's
degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.*
Certified public Accountant license preferred* Minimum of five (5)
years of accounting or financial experience in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment.* Experience in the healthcare field.Required
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: * None required for this
position.Work Environment: * Normal administrative office
environment.* Routine use of standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, filing cabinets and etc.* Works beyond normal
working hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary.Physical
Demands (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): * Ability
to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local
standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
productivity standards.* Ability to maintain regular, punctual
attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.* Job is largely sedentary, must be able to be
seated for long periods of time.* Must be able to lift and carry
files, open filing cabinets and bend to file.* Must be able to
occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.* Must be able to
regularly talk, listen and speak clearly.Travel Requirements: *
Travel may occasionally be required to attend training, conferences
