Position Overview As the Interim Controller , you'll play a critical leadership role, overseeing the accounting team and ensuring financial accuracy during month-end close and project revenue recognition. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with professional services experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full-cycle month-end close process, with a focus on timely and accurate expense and revenue recognition. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies across a portfolio of active, multi-phase projects. Provide strategic direction and daily oversight to a team of accounting professionals including AP, payroll, and billing. Collaborate closely with the CFO and Financial Analyst on internal reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis. Maintain and refine accounting workflows and internal controls for maximum efficiency and compliance. Conduct quality control reviews of payroll and expense transactions. Act as a key point of contact across departments, offering financial insights and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proven experience leading accounting teams within a professional services environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-volume, deadline-driven settings. High level of organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Collaborative and approachable leadership style with excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, x-lookup, pivot tables, index match). Timing is everything.
