18-21473 -- Workplace Technology Senior Engineer, GBS Wolters Kluwer Global Business Services is designed to provide services to the business units in the areas of technology, sourcing, procurement, legal, finance, and accounting which includes our North American-Accounting Center. These global centers promote team collaboration using best practices around a specific focus area to drive results and enhance operational efficiencies. There is a constant endeavor to benchmark against best-in-class industry standards to improve the quality of deliverables, increase cost savings, enhance productivity and reduce time to market for products and applications. We have an exciting new role, created for our Global Business Services division, due to growth. We are looking for a passionate development engineer, to act as our Workplace Technology Senior Engineer, GBS. This position can be in any of our Wolters Kluwer Hubs, and will accommodate telecommute (for the right candidate and with manager approvals) as long as the work from home location is close to the hub, and in office activity can take place! The preference is for the Riverwoods/Chicagoland, IL, market as we have a very large center located there. This role is part of the global Workplace Technology team providing the Office 365 platform to a global userbase of 25,000 colleagues. Work activities are focused on maintaining and optimizing existing services as well as developing and introducing new services with consideration for an optimal user experience. Work activities as part of this role will consist of providing support for workplace management (e.g. patch management, software deployment) as well as contributing to projects and initiatives to plan and implement improvements (e.g. optimize operational activities) and solutions (e.g. improve cybersecurity through Intune). These activities are expected to be organized and executed with a strong consideration for an optimal user experience. Initially the technology focus will be on executing and optimizing patch management and software packaging processes. This will evolve to also cover new technologies such as Windows Autopilot, Azure (AD) and Intune. Wolters Kluwer has a very close relationship with Microsoft, and as we customize and implement Microsoft for our company, overall in end user computing and activity. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys development and desires to engage in developing Microsoft technology and products! Responsibilities: * Create Workplace Technology solutions related to: * Windows client operating systems * Workplace security and compliance solutions * Directory and security compliance solutions (e.g. Active Directory, Azure AD, McAfee) * Client workstation management solutions (e.g. Bigfix, SCCM) * (Mobile) Device Management solutions (e.g. Intune) * Windows server operating systems -- within the relevant scope of workplace * Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016/Mac * Drive delivery and continuity of workplace services and solutions: * Operational service management of workplace services * Methodical delivery of improvements and innovations through (large) projects * Working cross countries, languages, teams and leadership governances * Working with WK partners and suppliers * Support the development of associated frameworks and policies (e.g. cybersecurity) * Implementation and configuration of technology solutions according to design * Support developing and implementing operational governance, processes and procedures * Provide technology support to WK GBS IT operational teams and businesses Performs other duties as assigned by manager Qualifications: * Preferred: Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. Information Systems Management) or equivalent experience * Preferred Certifications: * Microsoft MCSA Windows 10 * Microsoft MCSE Mobility * Microsoft MCSD * Bigfix Certification * 2+ years of relevant work experience with Microsoft Office 365 in a similar role. * 5+ years in technology with Microsoft tools and services * Strongly prefer experience with technology skills in supporting roles on: * Office 365 services: SharePoint, Skype, OneDrive, Teams * Intune * Active Directory * Azure (Active Directory) * ADFS * Windows clients (7-10) * DNS and Networking -- within the relevant scope of workplace * Excellent English communication and presentation skills * Solution documentation and presentations * Driving conference meetings * Facilitating workshops (requirement gathering, solution development, providing trainings, etc.) * Status reporting Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel is expected to be required on a regular basis, the amount will vary but is expected to be lower than 15% on an annual basis.
