Position Type: Secretarial/ Secretary - Level 1 Date Posted: 3/12/2026 Location: Castle Rock High School Date Available: 05/15/2026 Closing Date: 04/10/2026 Castle Rock School District is seeking candidates for the position of Secretary Level 1 at the HighSchool for the 2026-27 school year. The position will include working closely with the building administrator and under limited supervision; following standardized practices; leading, guiding and coordinating others; operating within a defined budget; communicating with a variety of persons to provide information, determining needs and furnishing assistance, processing a variety of documents, preparing and maintaining records and assisting other personnel as may be required. Essential Functions: Provide support to the building administrator(s) in the daily administration and operation of the building and/or department. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents and community. Create, compose and/or prepare principal and or school correspondence. Organize and maintain information retrieval systems, including incoming and outgoing correspondence. Compile data from a variety of sources to prepare required state and district reports. Support teachers in use of the Student Data System. Maintain a variety of information, files and records for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance. Maintain accurate student records including report cards and files for the purpose of documenting and/or providing reliable information. Independently answer routine matters and refer others to appropriate persons. Monitor assigned district activities and/or program components for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements. Assure procurement of supplies, equipment, services as needed by the building, Issue purchase orders; and verify invoices. Manage financial records for the building, including monitoring general fund, school lunches, and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations and expenditures are accurate and that fiscal practices are followed. Process appropriate leaves and substitute documentation for the building. Provide support and assistance in development of the master schedule. Maintain transcripts for incoming and outgoing students, including reviewing and validating transcripts when students leave. Other Functions: Perform other related functions as assigned to support the success of the district. Provide back-up support to other clerical staff Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of secretarial experience with increasing responsibility. Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and software, including word processing, desktop publishing, databases and spreadsheets. Demonstrated ability to employ principles of proper business correspondence, including the ability to compose letters, correspondence and reports from written notes of verbal instruction. Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct the effective operation of an office, including articulate speech and grammar skills to communicate in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including professional and friendly telephone and personal presence in welcoming visitors. Demonstrated knowledge of management procedures and current office practices including the ability to read, handle and maintain large amounts of paperwork. Demonstrated ability to initiate support activities without specific directions. Regular and reliable attendance. Preferred Qualifications: A.A. degree in related field. Successful experience in school district secretarial position Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Student Data System (Skyward) and Google Working Conditions/Environment: Office environment. Employment Information: Location: Castle Rock High School Assignment: 225 days per year (includes 12 holidays), 8 hours per day Salary: $27.44-30.73 (2025-2026) Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic long-term disability, basic life and AD & D insurance through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Employees may also be eligible to participate in FSA, DCAP, HSA, and other supplemental benefits.
