WHAT YOU'LL DO:The Health & Wellness Center Manager (75%) / Head Women's Soccer Coach (WSOC) (25%) reports directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the coordination, planning, and support of the Health and Wellness Center in their goal to offer services that enhance an environment centered on student success, and provide cultural enrichment opportunities for students through exposure to, and involvement in, an array of diverse experiences and events. The Health and Wellness Center Manager / WSOC Coach works with both the Athletics and Instruction in promoting the Health and Wellness Center, the College Athletic program, and the Physical Education program. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Center and its patrons. In addition, the Manager is required to provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe and enjoyable, service-oriented environment for participants at all times. This position requires a flexible work schedule including availability for evening and weekend events and activities. Responsibilities and duties of the Health and Wellness Center Manager include, but are not limited to the following:1. Oversee and manage the Health and Wellness Center operations, to include facility oversight of the gymnasiums, fitness center and classrooms, weight and multipurpose rooms, lockers rooms, laundry facilities, and other campus recreation facilities.2. Work with the Instruction Division to support physical education program classrooms related to instructional activities, including set-up and equipment needs.3. Utilizing campus reservation system, ensure correct setup of all Health & Wellness Center rooms prior to scheduled reservations, ensuring proper equipment setup, functionality and maintaining of all equipment, and a generally professional appearance of the space for all Instructional needs, as well as events and activities.4. Oversee and support a comprehensive wellness program; including developing programs to meet student, faculty, and staff needs.5. Recruit, hire, train, supervise and support all game management and Health and Wellness Center staff, including student-employees, and volunteers for various recreational organization and roles.6. Work with the Student Life Department to create and support inter mural activities within the Health and Wellness Center.7. Create, maintain and inventory Health and Wellness Center supplies and equipment, inclusive of Physical Education program equipment. Work with Assistant Athletic Director or Instruction Division to ensure accurate and timely procurement of materials and services.8. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget request for the Health and Wellness Center.9. Assist with coordination of all revenue and expenditures of the Athletics Department, to include balancing the cash box from event ticket sales and preparing bank deposits.10. Assist with varying social media platforms providing promotion of the athletic department, photography, information, and community outreach.11. Assist in providing a holistic and academic support services that seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness that contributes to increased student persistence and completion of student-athletes.12. Build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and students in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain good working relationships with other college departments and personnel. Work as a collaborative team member on a wide variety of tasks and projects.13. Demonstrate commitment to the College's diversity goals.14. Serve on various college committees, as needed.15. Assumes other duties falling within the scope of the position, as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Women's Soccer Coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to:1. Provide leadership to the Women's Soccer program; will conduct the program in accordance with the NWAC and college rules and regulations.2. Collaborate with Athletics staff to foster partnerships between Women's Soccer and local and campus communities.3. Participate in departmental meetings and communicate information to student-athletes in a timely manner.4. Understand of the importance of marketing and fundraising as it relates to the success of intercollegiate athletics.5. Teach individual and team skills/strategies and fundamentals/physical conditioning relative to Women's Soccer.6. Demonstrate appropriate behavior and sportsmanship expected of athletic teams and individuals representing SPSCC.7. Support and monitor the academic progress of student-athletes throughout the academic year. Actively keep student-athletes engaged and active throughout the academic year.8. Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes within the guidelines of the NWAC rules and regulations.9. Supervise the transportation of the team to all approved college games, events, and activities.10. Development of a competitive schedule of games/tournaments within the NWAC rules.11. Ensure completion and timely processing of institutional and conference paperwork and reports.12. Maintain, manage, and conduct inventory and accept responsibility of all equipment, uniforms, and supplies for the Women's Soccer program.13. Be available to attend all practices and games on weekdays, weekends and overnight travel.14. Work with a variety of audiences, including prospective students, colleges, government agencies, and alumni.15. Adapt quickly to changing student needs; maintain consistent communication with supervisors and support staff in the Athletic Department.16. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget request for the Women's Soccer Program.17. Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. QUALIFICATIONS YOU POSSESS:Minimal QualificationsBachelor's Degree in related field or program from an accredited college or universityTwo years of professional experience in the Health and Wellness field.Supervisory/management experience.Playing and/or coaching experience in Women's Soccer and/or demonstrated leadership role within Athletics.Demonstrate commitment to customer service.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and function as a team member.Requires manual dexterity and mobility. This position may require moving boxes and equipment weighing approximately 70 pounds.Ability to work evenings and weekends.Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of organizational goals.Experience and/or leadership in serving, advocating for, collaborating with, and/or representing specific underrepresented marginalized communities.Cross Cultural Communication -- Verbal and nonverbal communication skills in interaction with those who are culturally different from one's self.Conflict Management & Engagement -- The ability to engage cultural conflicts that occur between individuals and groups. Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in related field or program from an accredited college or university.Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications, specifically MS Office suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks, maintain office confidentiality and accommodate numerous interruptions.Experience as a Head Coach (and/or Assistant Coach) at the Club, High School or College level.Experience with monitoring budgets and performing reconciliations.Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations, solving problems and making decisions.Demonstrate knowledge of intercollegiate sports rules and regulations.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of intercollegiate recruiting practices.Demonstrates commitment to a philosophy of promoting student success.Demonstrates knowledge of the Northwest Athletic Conference policies and procedures.
