Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)Diamond Technology Innovations is currently seeking a full time Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to join our team at our Olympia, Washington location. Our ideal candidate will be a skilled technical hands-on manufacturing engineer that enjoys technology and has a proactive attitude to identify and solve problems via hands-on interaction with manufacturing and test. The candidate should have strong abilities to work well in a highly motivated team environment. Our work environment is fast-paced and requires team members to have technical aptitude and be detail-oriented, to learn quickly and have organizational skills, but most importantly to have a positive attitude and enjoy their job and their peers.The Manufacturing Engineer will own the mechanical design of new and existing products from concept through the product lifecycle, including change control for revisions. The role will be responsible for design, development, testing, technical documentation, and launch of new products as well as supporting products currently in production. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in product evaluation, design reviews, and process development of internally produced components/products Perform and review tolerance analysis, drawing specifications, and collaborate with inspection personnel. Hands-on interaction with production and test personnel to improve parts assemblies and test processes. Identify and resolve issues related to design, assembly, and test to improve quality and reduce cost in a highly technical Lean production environment. Lead manufacturing engineering activities and participate in new product design and development. Lead continuous improvement activities which identify and resolve manufacturing issues that will improve yields, reduce waste, and enhance quality and safety. Update manufacturing document control including mechanical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures. Design and implement appropriate tooling, fixtures, and equipment to support assembly and test. Maintain/improve current methodologies of production work cells. Research and specify new materials, assembly methods, test procedures, and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar is strongly preferred. 5+ years' experience in product development and production facilities related to material cutting industries as well as aerospace, defense, energy industries. Enjoys technology and has a proactive attitude to identify and solve problems via hands-on interaction with manufacturing and test. Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task. Ability to design and build production tooling, fixtures, and gauges. Skilled in using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks. Skilled in using MSOffice suite and Project Management software. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. Strong leadership potential. Skilled communicator with the ability to work well in a highly motivated team environment. Ability to work in a time sensitive environment. Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and Windows Operating System Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Prior experience in ISO-9001 and/or AS-9100 certification environments would be a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per yearBenefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insuranceSchedule: Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate: Olympia, WA 98512: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: One location
