Job Description:
SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking an experienced Project
Engineer I with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at
all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible,
resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of
professionalism and confidentiality. The Project Engineer will
review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field
coordination issues with project team members and
participants.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for
subcontractors and craft persons
- Implement the pre-construction quality plan
- Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments
and recurring expenses
- Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and
Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance
Report
- Manage, create, and distribute contract documents
- Establish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs,
correspondence)
- Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout
phase
- Manage testing and inspection processes for construction
quality management
- Implement three-phase inspection system
- Establish reporting formats, protocols, schedules, and off-site
testing procedures
- Notify Project Manager and Superintendent of non-conforming
test results or inspection items
- Manage submittals: set up register, obtain customer/architect
approval, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review,
and processing
- Expedite submittals to align with project schedule
- Communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and
suppliers
- Issue submittal requirement letters
- Provide periodic updates of submittal register to customer or
architect
- Coordinate subcontractor details: verify insurance, prepare
paperwork, request final payment
- Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders
- Define and implement procedures for posting revisions and
updates to as-built construction documents
- Incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation into contract
document updates
- Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers
- Determine alternative work methods as needed
- Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members
- Maintain schedule of timelines and ensure
completionQUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural
Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum of two years related construction experience
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively
manage multiple tasks
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally
accepted business practices
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and
problem-solving skills
- Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service
skills

is $82,000 - $110,700 (Actual range is higher for the following
office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and
Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).Base pay is
positioned within the range based on several factors including an
individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration
given to internal equity.Please make note:
