CalPortland, a leader in sustainable construction solutions, is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team. As a Shop Mechanic, you will be pivotal in maintaining and repairing automotive and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency in line with our commitment to sustainability and excellence. Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, and other mechanical equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the best ways to correct them. Install new vehicle parts and ensure machinery is compliant with industry standards. Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning after repairs. Maintain accurate records of each repair made for future reference. Adhere to safety policies and procedures to minimize risk on the job. Expertise in handling, installing, and repairing various types of mechanical equipment including heavy machinery. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Valid driver’s license. ASE Certification preferred (Automotive Service Excellence). Other relevant mechanical repair certifications are a plus.
