Job Description:

The Manager of Facilities Engineering is a member of a multidisciplinary support services team focused on the physical plant and facility engineering operations of Providence St. Peter Hospital and Southwest Service Area offsite clinics.In this position you will:Understand the need of their customers and prioritizes work assignments and team efforts towards meeting these needs. Ensure that the processes, systems and tools which enable the Facilities Engineering team to support patient care and hospital/ clinic needs are available and are used. Assist with the coordination of Facilities Engineering work activities affecting other areas in a manner that minimizes disruptions and inconveniences of the customer. Participating member of the Southwest Service Area leadership team in identifying barriers or issues that may impact patience care delivery or medical center operationsReview customers' need, regulatory requirements and develops programs and policies to address; clearly and consistently communicates status and conditions of buildings and building systems that support the hospital and clinics. Resolves Facilities Engineering/Physical Plant issues and concerns in a helpful and calm manner. Holds regular staff meetings to communicate to staff all appropriate issues, data trends and changes on a routine basis in a manner that fosters understanding and feedback. Appropriately credits team members for the effort and accomplishment of desired outcomes.Identify appropriate key indicators that accurately measure performance; Routinely reviews the performance of the Facilities Engineering teams and takes action when necessary to improve outcomes. Manage and advise facility operation budgets, renovation and capital projects in a manner which produces effective results and meets fiscal needs of the organization. Review documentation periodically to ensure that records, including work orders, labor reports, purchasing, regulatory documentation, etc., meet applicable standards such as JC, State and Federal agencies, and other regulatory guidelines. Participate on the Environment of Care Committee, Safety Committee and other facility related committeesCoach and support Facilities Engineering staff with the process of making decisions which support teamwork and produce intended outcomes. Plan and implement formal and informal staff in-service sessions in a manner which provides learning and education opportunities for Facilities Engineering team members. Provide constructive feedback to Facilities Engineering staff throughout the year which supports the annual staff evaluation process. Select and develop staff who will meet the organizational objectives and purpose. Take time and the initiative to learn new skills, systems and information pertaining to facilities support or team leader ship functionsQUALIFICATIONS:Required qualifications for this position include:Specialized training in Building systems such as HVAC, Boilers, Building Automation systems, or Energy management desiredCertified Healthcare Facility Manager Certification required within 12 months of employmentMinimum experience of eight (8) years in facilities/building maintenance/ construction management in a healthcare settingMinimum experience of five (5) years in leadership or supervisor rolePreferred qualifications for this position include:Bachelors Degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering or related
