Contract Manager is responsible for negotiating renewal contracts
within our provider market. Optum Insight's provider space has
undergone an exciting redesign where all our team members are
focused in a client-centric model, instead of product-centric
territory. Renewal Managers will be instrumental in co-owning the
renewal components within a client's Optum portfolio.On a
day-to-day basis, this Renewal Manager will ensure effective and
compelling renewal strategies are delivered, and that they are
architected on time and follow required business unit processes.
The Renewal Manager is accountable for communication with multiple
internal departments including the Business Unit, Client
Management, Value Management, Sales, Finance, Legal and
Contracting. The Renewal Manager owns the processes associated with
ensuring accuracy of pricing, business terms and approvals for all
renewals managed. The candidate should have healthcare financial
experience in negotiating existing contractual agreements and
knowledge of legal terms and conditions. -If you are located in
Mountain Time Zone or Pacific Time Zone only, you will have the
flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.
-Primary Responsibilities:
- Commercial Acumen -
- Develops a renewal strategy where the client expectations of
product and / or service, product value and renewal terms are
clearly understood, communicated and documented
- Identify sales opportunities during renewal discussions to
generate net new opportunities and Sales retention activities
- Ensures approach, pricing, terms, conditions and required
internal approvals are secured and in alignment between Optum and
the Client's business goals
- Successfully manages, negotiates, and executes a high volume of
contract renewals that vary in price -
- Follows all requirements associated with ensuring accuracy of
pricing, business terms and approvals for all renewals managed
- Reviews client contracts to ensure that the terms and
conditions are consistent with current expectations internally and
externally
- Timing updates on all documentation, approvals, and
administration tracked in Salesforce which result in accuracy of
the renewal pipeline and renewal metrics
- Client Management -
- Balances the client voice and business objectives of
OptumInsight as the client advocate in renewal approach to drive
desired outcomes
- Possess knowledge of Optum solutions and organizational
structure to drive crisp delivery of renewal process including
system updates, client management and sales functionality -
- Project Management -
- Manages to a firm timeline and close plan in order to ensure
that renewals close on time -
- Drive processes and/or contractual changes where applicable
(e.g. migration to newer product schedules, product upgrade
expectations, etc.)
- Team Work
- Partners successfully with sales, client management and the
business units to design renewal strategies that demonstrate the
value proposition as well as are consistent with pricing and
service delivery expectations
- Able to work well independently and within and across teams,
act with urgency and tenacity in solving challenges, and able to

in.Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years client-facing experience (e.g. client relationship
management, consultation, client messaging & positioning) -
- 5+ years working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance,
Contracting, Product & Support)
- 5+ years managing multiples processes or projects to
timelines
- 5+ years working in a complex highly matrixed organization
- 3+ years of experience in client contracts / renewals and/or
sales pipeline management in software or services industry
- 3+ years basic data and analytical skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed for corporate events and
meetings
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this

Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300
to $176,900. The salary range for Nevada residents is $97,300 to
$176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited
to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to
