**Description****Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**? **Vision & Strategy.** Serve as transformational leader for the development, build and deployment of financial and reporting processes and policies that ensure compliance with US GAAP, any other local accounting standards, and the regulatory environment for a complex, global standalone entity. Provide operational and strategic leadership for accounting organization and broader finance team to prepare company for a potential public listing.? **Operational Finance Leader & Thought Partner** . Serve as a trusted advisor to the CAO, CFO, CEO, and other senior leaders, as well as the board of directors, on financial accounting, financial reporting, and other key accounting and controls matters. Partner with the CAO, CEO and CFO on strategic business initiative by understanding and communicating the accounting and finance progression to build the new Cordis standalone finance and accounting infrastructure, as well as implications of various growth strategies and transactions.? **Team Leader.** Attract, develop, motivate, and manage a high-performance and high-potential team which can seamlessly stand-up independent processes to reduce reliance on, and eventually replace, all transition support services from legacy owner.? **Accounting, Policy & Controls and Public Company Readiness** . Direct and oversee all aspects of the controllership function of the organization. With the CAO and CFO, help prepare the company to be a public company. Lead the development, deployment, and implementation of all company methods, procedures, and practices to safeguard the assets of the enterprise and to properly reflect its financial results. Accountable for the accurate and timely interpretation of GAAP accounting standards and the accurate incorporation of such interpretations into the company's financial records. Oversee and control the general accounting activities for the enterprise, including recording company transactions, classifications, and reconciliation of account balances in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.? **Board Interaction.** Work effectively with the board of directors and audit committee, providing advice and communication as appropriate, on vital issues.? **Audit** . Lead planning and execution of the annual audit, through an external public accounting firm, for the enterprise. Function as the enterprise subject matter expert and principal point of interpretation on all matters resulting from dealings with external accountants and auditors.**DESIRED OUTCOMES**? Quickly grasp Cordis' market dynamics, key partners, and competitors to serve as strategic advisor to CAO, CFO and executive leadership team.? Help build and enhance Cordis' accounting and controls-and broader financial-operations and infrastructure to support the company's separation as a standalone entity and continued global growth. Develop best-in-class, at-scale public company level controls in preparation for an IPO or strategic exit.? Drive a transformative effort to up-level the controllership organization as well a greater level of financial sophistication throughout the operations of the entire company.The ideal candidate is a transformational leader that brings a compelling track record of delivering strategic growth and shareholder value as a senior finance leader in a complex, public organization. S/he brings exceptional business acumen and leadership skills as well as a breadth of finance experiences including leading large-scale, transformative finance and accounting projects. This executive should have strong reporting and accounting skills, a proven team leadership skillset, and must be viewed as being capable of supporting the continued growth of Cordis, in addition to IPO readiness. This person will have the credibility, stature, and gravitas to interact regularly with other C-level executives, the Board of Directors and external stakeholders as it relates to accounting and operational matters, potential transactions, new products, regulatory matters, and other critical matters. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, assertive, and energetic executive who is passionate about building and creating value for the enterprise. S/he will have exceptional intellect, emotional intelligence, business and finance acumen, and leadership skills to drive the financial vision for Cordis.**IDEAL EXPERIENCE****Education and Professional Credentials**An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred. CPA required.**Senior Accounting Leadership**12+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally beginning in a Big Four public accounting firm. Recent experience as a chief accounting officer or controller in public company settings is required. Public company/SEC reporting and SOX compliance experience required.**Relevant Organizational Experience**Experience working in a publicly traded, global company with complex systems environment and exposure to finance digital technologies; ideally with exposure to and experience in the medical device industry and/or a fast-paced, high growth, complex global business.**High-growth and Transformation**Experience leading and developing a finance organization through significant transformation to support the strategic and operational needs of a growing and newly standalone business, ideally through both organic growth and M Carve-out experience is ideal.**Team Leadership**Experience building and up-leveling high-performing accounting and controls organizations of sufficient scale and size, ideally with experience leading global and geographically dispersed teams.**CRITICAL LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES****Collaborating, Influencing & Leadership**? Translates business goals into well-defined performance plans for the accounting and controllership organization and communicates linkage between current activities and those goals.?
