PCG is currently seeking a Project Manager to work in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment as part of a team of subject matter experts,
project managers, and operations staff within the Education
Consulting (EC) service line. This position provides motivated
individuals an opportunity to manage project-based educational
initiatives, locally as well as nationally. The position is remote,
with occasional in-person work required.
Organizational Context
PCG's Education Consulting service line works with states,
districts, and school clients to provide a wide spectrum of
services, such as curriculum development, instructional resources
audits, design and facilitation of professional development and
professional learning communities, school improvement, and program
reviews. Past project engagements, for example, have included the
development of the EngageNY grades 6-12 English Language Arts
Common-Core aligned curriculum for the New York State Education
Department, design and delivery of a system of professional
learning for the Connecticut State Department of Education, and the
creation of curriculum aligned to the Florida B.E.S.T standards. We
are currently partnering with Chicago Public Schools to support
implementation of a full-year, standards-aligned and culturally
responsive curriculum for PK-12 ELA and mathematics that our team
developed.
Responsibilities
For select engagements, leads all phases of project management in
alignment with PMO practices, including, but not limited to, the
following:
Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning,
scope definition, design, execution, and delivery
Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other
performance indicators, and prepares reports to senior
management
Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and
budget
Manages changes to project scope, schedule, and costs
Measures and report project performance
Performs risk management
Develops comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and
other staff members
Use and continually develop leadership skills
Develops and maintains work plans with baselines and earned value
reporting to monitor progress
Establishes and implements communication plan
Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation
Implements risk management process to minimize project risks and
issues management to identify, track, and bring issues to
resolution
Regularly monitors and reports on progress of the project to all
stakeholders, including the presentation of detailed periodic
reports defining project progress, risks, financials, and
solutions
Interfaces regularly with the client team, project subcontractors,
and the PCG project steering committee where applicable
Holds teams (within PCG and partner organizations) accountable to
agreed-upon performance metrics
Performs other related duties as assigned
Travel as needed (e.g., to facilitate onsite client engagement and
participate in team meetings)
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree
preferred
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a project management
capacity, with preference for the management of adaptive, iterative
project management approaches and for the management of non-IT
projects
Certification Required: Project Management Professional (PMP) or
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
Demonstrated application of project management practices, including
people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change
management
Experience in leading projects in the government or public sector a
plus
Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly
PowerPoint, Project, TEAMS, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of
Asana is a plus.
Proficient with Office 365 and the Google Suite
Able to work with a diverse range of people

Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending
on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the
specific office location, role, skill set, and level of
experience.---
As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following
reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000 -
$155,000.
In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
