Nurse Practitioner | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Camp Murray, WA Employer: TotalMed Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position L ooking for 2 Cardiothoracic Surgery APP to start ASAP pending credentialing! Schedule/Availability Requirements: M-F 3-4 days calls & a 1:4 weekend call. Hours are variable, but in general. M-F Schedule is mostly 0700-1500, but it is not shift work, some days may go beyond. If the Provider is on call the hours for that day would likely be 10-12 hours. Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 68 hours per weekend day. Call days include carrying a pager for 24 hours. Facility Location: Tacoma, WA Setting: Inpatient FTE: 1.0 General Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with pre and post operative patient evaluation and treatment OR First assist Coronary artery bypass and all valve surgeries Aortic reconstruction and aortic arch reconstruction Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries Endoscopic vein harvest Open radial artery harvest Minimally invasive valves VATS and DaVinci Robot Thoracic Procedures Thoracic and fore-gut procedures ICU & Step-down management Emergent procedures on the floor as required. (Chest tube insertions, arterial line insertions etc.) Call every 6th night and every 6th weekend Pre-and post-op patients, inpatients and outpatients Evening, night and weekend surgeries Weekend patient rounds Walk-in/urgent clinic visits when primary surgeon is not available Clinic wound checks as needed 5 perm surgeons on staff (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic) 4 mid levels (3 PA, 1 NP and 1 in training) Cases- 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/week EMR: EPIC Support Staff: RN Reason for Coverage: Staff retirement Dealbreakers: Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases are robotics) Johnny Seivold w/TotalMed (813) 601-4708 Benefits Rates are negotiable
