SUMMARY
The Database Administrator II focuses on providing high level
expertise in the design, development and integration of application
interfaces for aviation-related data. This position is responsible
for providing detailed procedures for solutions to problems as well
as developing and maintaining software for auxiliary and support
functions of the program using scripting/programming languages and
relational databases. Additionally, this position requires analysis
and presentation of the aviation data processed by these systems
and applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily
functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable
rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code
of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for
themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in
which they will report any violations or reasonably suspected
violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable
discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues
that arise during the performance of a government contract.
Provides expertise with aviation database development, management,
refinement, maintenance, and configuration control to ensure
repeatability and consistency for FAA international data-informed
decision making. Lead coordination with FAA Lines of Business
(LOBs) to harmonize existing aviation data sets. Provide copies of
databases to FAA upon request.
Provides database management technical expertise to collect,
validate, organize, and analyze aviation data from publicly open
sources and from FAA databases to support FAA international and
policy resource decision making.
Provides expertise on international engagement metrics, measures,
and data informed scenarios, as well as support integration of data
into FAA's international engagement processes.
Provides technical program management and analytical expertise to
validate existing FAA priorities against gathered data and identify
opportunities for new or expanded FAA engagement as suggested by
the data.
Conducts data analysis and develops data visualizations using
Information Technology (IT) tools such as Tableau. Prepare
corporate international aviation data for presentation to senior
level FAA decision makers to support FAA strategic engagement and
resource allocation decisions.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available
and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job
description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to
maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and
orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will
report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate
supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe
conditions as the best of own ability.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant
experience in coordinating changes to databases, tests and
implementers the database.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Hands-on Relational Database experience (Oracle, Microsoft SQL
Server).
Knowledge of high-level system design methodologies and techniques
(such as the entity/relationship model, data/process flow diagrams,
etc.).
Knowledge of report creation using SQL reporting services, Crystal
Reports or other similar reporting tools.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
with national, state, and local partners in various governmental,
private, and voluntary agencies.
Experience in conveying complex information effectively using oral
and written communication with the ability to analyze, interpret,
and summarize data and prepare reports.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and
statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables.

move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to
adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers
printers and light traffic.
