Job Title: Cyber Security Systems Architect Type: Contract, Long
-Term Compensation: $72 - $90 hourly Contractor Work Model: Remote
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Systems
Architect to supporting our nuclear energy technology client, on a
contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security of
Sodium Fast Reactor technologies. The successful candidate will
report directly to the Cyber and Physical Security System Design
Manager and will interface with a diverse team of scientists and
engineers. Key Responsibilities: Design and Implementation: Lead
the design of cyber security control implementations and digital
systems, ensuring alignment from functional requirements through
final design. Documentation Development: Create and review
technical design documents, including System Requirements
Documents, System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents,
and Engineering Design Specifications. Systems Integration: Oversee
the integration of physical security systems with advanced control
systems for Generation IV nuclear reactor technologies, working
closely with both internal and external teams. Regulatory
Compliance: Analyze and apply nuclear codes, standards, and
regulatory criteria in the engineering design process, ensuring
safety and compliance with NRC regulations. Technical Guidance:
Provide direction and guidance to engineers on nuclear and
non-nuclear physical security design standards, as well as manage
and review plant communication systems and component
specifications. Project Oversight: Manage and ensure the delivery
of supplier project data, collaborating with contract
administrators for technical reviews of deliverables. Continuous
Improvement: Engage in continuous learning of nuclear industry best
practices and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with different disciplines,
offering technical support in licensing activities associated with
Cyber and Physical Security Plans. Key Qualifications: Bachelor's
degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related
field from an accredited institution, with at least 6 years of
direct experience in security digital systems architecture. Proven
experience in instrumentation and controls digital system
development and integration, particularly in the context of nuclear
security systems. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and
industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, and Nuclear Cyber Security
Plans. Proficiency in developing and understanding industrial
process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrument diagrams
(P&ID) is desirable. Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD,
SolidWorks) for design deliverables is a plus. Strong technical
writing, communication, and presentation skills, with high
attention to detail and technical excellence. Ability to lead a
design team autonomously and effectively manage multiple
