 The mission of the Department of Health is to protect and improve the health of the people of Washington State. The work of this office is focused on immunizations, a cornerstone of public health work to reduce morbidity and mortality from vaccine preventable disease.  These Provider Site Visit Specialist  positions perform quality assurance activities in accordance with state and federal requirements for COVID-19 vaccine response by providing education, training, and technical assistance to participating healthcare providers regarding COVID-19 program components, requirements, and guidelines, and to assure healthcare providers are in compliance with COVID-19 vaccine storage and handling, administration, and reporting requirements.

 

This recruitment is for multiple full-time, project Health Services Consultant 2 (HSC 2) positions in the Office of Immunization and Child Profile, Division of Prevention and Community Health.  

  

Currently, these positions may be located anywhere within the State of Washington. We have filled all of the positions in Western Washington but are still looking to fill positions in Eastern Washington.  These project positions are home-based and are currently funded through June 30, 2022.

Duties include:

 

  • Conduct site visits, follow-up visits, and training with participating healthcare providers to ensure compliance with federal and state policies.  
  • Enroll new providers into the COVID-19 Vaccine Program.
  • Provide consultation, education, and technical assistance to newly participating COVID-19 healthcare providers to ensure successful implementation of program policies and standards.
  • Develop training/education materials for healthcare provider staff related to the COVID-19 Vaccine Program as needed or requested.
  • Prepare and submit site visit review reports to CDC, assuring compliance with all federal COVID-19 grant reporting requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, task forces, coalition groups, and other community activities to develop partnerships and collaborative efforts related to improving immunization rates.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as assigned to support agency efforts.

Required Qualifications

(Experience may be gained concurrently.)

 

  • Option 1:  Bachelor's degree or higher. 

 

OR

 

  • Option 2:  Two (2) years of professional management or consultative experience, preferably in a health services program. 

 

AND

 

  • Two (2) or more years of experience providing education, consultation, and technical support, preferably to health care providers, public health staff, or other professional staff.
  • Two (2) or more years providing customer service, preferably to providers and local health departments in a public health setting. 

 

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health care administration, public administration or business administration or allied field.
  • Two (2) years of paid professional experience conducting and supporting accountability and quality assurance for meeting state and federal requirements for a public health program. 
  • One (1) year of paid professional experience working in a state or local immunization or communicable disease program.

Conditions of Employment/Working Conditions
