We believe government can make a difference, and we seek talented, hardworking people who share that conviction.LMI is seeking a Logistics Policy Analyst in support of a major logistics transformation initiative for a large Federal Civilian Agency. The primary objective for the candidate that fills this role will be to provide policy support for a project that is transitioning from an outdated demand planning system to a new system currently in development. The candidate will play a key role in all aspects of the lifecycle from planning and development, through to final deployment and long-term sustainment, and must be capable of managing competing tasks. This is a critical component for the project and integral to the eventual optimization/scheduling of transportation in the TMS (Transportation Management System) for the Agency. The qualified candidate is a detail-orientated, hardworking individual with a minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics policy development and/or improvement with a highly qualified candidate having additional experience in transportation policy as well.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and assess logistics policies and procedures against current performance metrics and make recommendations on policy and/or process improvements.Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics functions through data analysis.Assist with the design and execution of strategic sessions and engagements with senior leaders in government and the private sector. Draft policy proposals, position papers, reports, briefings and other materials.Review and analyze data, policy literature, laws and regulations to provide support in informing organizational policy recommendations and help identify opportunities for affecting policy change.Help build and support relationships with internal client stakeholders. Rapidly prioritize competing requirements, understand and simplify client requirements.Apply critical and analytical thinking skills to translate complex information into understandable and impactful work products.Oversee and complete special projects as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degreeAt least 8 years of relevant experience required. Must have functional experience in supply chain management, transportation and distributionExcellent negotiation and consensus-building skillsExcellent oral presentation and writing skills.
