Kubernetes in production easier for developers and cluster
operators alike. We are working to establish an industry-leading

The TMC Interfaces team is currently building out a core part of
this product a SaaS based platform that integrates with Kubernetes

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem
you will be responsible for? As a So ftware Engineer on the TMC
Interfaces team you will be responsible for owning and
collaborating on new and existing features in TMC with a focus on
supporting an extensible UI platform that is (1) scalable as the
number of UI features grow and (2) enables a consistent user
experience. You will work closely with other engineers on the team,
as well as in the broader engineering organization, to design and
implement features end-to-end.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the
first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? In short, youll
be: Building out core functionality of our React-based SaaS
Collaborating with backend engineers to spec, write, test and
deploy code that integrates with API endpoints.
Thoughtfully reviewing team members code.
Building out tools, libraries, and patterns for our React-based
Advocating for best practices (frontend engineering and
large-scale application architecture).
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments,
requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Writing understandable, testable code and think about things like
maintainability, scalability, and extensibility.
Learning about Kubernetes, containers, and modern cloud-native
Writing React leveraging TypeScript (though experience in either

What is leadership like for this role? What is the structure and
culture of the team like? The TMC Interfaces team currently
consists of 12 engineers and 2 engineering manager s . The managers
for this team are Kate Kuchin and Ashtyn Edwards, both of whom
joined VMware over two years ago through the Heptio acquisition.
Kate started her career at Google, and has since worked in
technical and non-technical roles in startups. Ashtyn was
previously the Tech Lead for the TMC Interfaces team before moving
into engineering management. Both Kate and Ashtyn are committed to
building a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and trust within
