Within L&I, our Information Technology Division (ITD) provides information technology products and services in support of the agency's business priorities. In your role as the Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the application infrastructure and service delivery framework that creates our portfolio of internal and external business applications. This includes MyLNI, LINIIS Web, Occupational Health Management Systems, Health Information Exchange, Early Claims Solution and Crime Victims Case Management System.

We need someone with the ability to independently design and implement L&I's infrastructure environments for critical lines of business across the agency. You'll also be relied upon to provide technical consultation to our business partners, managers, and other IT professionals. Join our mission to Keep Washington Safe and Working by applying now!

Implementing the features of physical design for the Java development infrastructure.
Administering and maintaining large, distributed, Internet, Intranet and Extranet Java based application development environments for both agency and inter-agency use.
Providing estimates, time and effort to IT business partners and programs.
Performing software upgrades and patch installation.
Performing system administration, including mentoring, configuring and troubleshooting.
Researching technical requirements and assisting in preparing justifications for the Enterprise Architecture Team.
Documenting test results that ensure software deployed to the WebSphere Application Servers will be compatible with the installed operating system and supported by IBM.
Leading problem solving teams to identify issues and provide technical support, troubleshooting, and brainstorming for technical issues in the SOA environment.
Leading teams and collaborating with development teams and other IT stakeholders to ensure that products developed and deployed run on an infrastructure that is supportable, maintainable and available at all times.
Writing regular operational status reports for management; preparing written and oral presentations to division staff.
Assisting with development of feasibility studies, decision packages, and requests for proposals.

Required:

A Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field AND 7 years of experience working in a professional IT workplace managing and maintaining Service Oriented Architecture infrastructure and IBM tools and methodology.

OR

11 years of experience working in a professional IT workplace managing and maintaining Service Oriented Architecture infrastructure and IBM tools and methodology.

The experience defined above includes, but is not limited to:

Analyzing, designing, configuring, implementing, maintaining or programming computer software applications/databases.
Experience as a Microsoft Windows system administrator and technician, or providing the equivalent support services.

Additionally qualified applicants must possess:

7 years of IT experience with service oriented application infrastructure technology: JAVA Application deployment and configuration Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) architecture and Methodology.
Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Infrastructure architecture. N-Tier architectures, high availability, scalability and performance.
J2EE Application architecture, Application Server Installation, configuration and troubleshooting, Complaint Application Server application performance tuning, monitoring testing and troubleshooting; Application Server migration assessment, execution and tuning.
Install and configuration of Eclipse based Integrated Development Environments on Windows.
Relational database development, implementation or administration.
Source/object control methods and systems such as Subversion, Visual Source Safe, Visual Studio Team System, Scripting with Python, python, JACL, Windows PowerShell, Windows Script Host and others.

Desired:

7 years of experience as a Java Systems Administrator.
Experience with SOA infrastructure technologies to include: IBM, WebSphere Certified Administrator - WAS ND V8. 5, IBM WebSphere Certified Solution Developer- Web Services Development for WAS V8.5, CMM/CMMI, RUP, WebSphere MQ, ITIL, MSF, MOF process methods and control, UML, testing methods, performance testing and analysis, Windows SharePoint Services and Windows Server Update Services.
Experience with IBM's Performance Tuning Toolkit, SOAPUI, WebSphere MQ Explorer.
Certified as a Sun Certified JAVA Associate, Java Programmer, Java Developer, Web Component Developer, Business Component Developer or Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services.
