Western Washington Medical Center for Director of Emergency
The Nurse Director Emergency Department will oversee the daily
operations of an extremely busy 22 bed unit, which last year saw
over 36,000 patients. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer,
the Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Director is supported by 1
Nurse Manager Emergency Services as well as tenured clinical nurses
and a staff of 50 FTE’s.
This bustling Trauma Center is regionally known their supreme
level of care. The Trauma Center Director will collaborate with 10
physicians board certified in Emergency Medicine, along with nurse
Practitioners, nurses, educators, clinical coordinators and case
managers. Along with the Trauma Center services, the medical
center also provides: Cardiac Cathetization and Open Heart
The Emergency Director will work closely with staff to
coordinate and oversee continuing education and in-service
trainings and will review policies and procedures to ensure best
practices in patient safety and performance improvement.
The Nurse Director Emergency Services will be responsible for
all budgeting, hiring, staff retention and scheduling for the
center. Additionally, the Nurse Director will be responsible for
the overall patient care, and quality measures of the Healing
The Medical Center is very busy, and annually sees over 30,000
emergency room visits, performs 2,000 in-patient and 1,500
outpatient surgical procedures, and delivers 1,100 newborns.
