Job Description:

Summary/Objective: The MRI Technologist uses specialized equipment to create cross-sectional image scans of patients to help doctors diagnose and treat illness or disease. They interact directly with patients and may administer intravenous injections of contrast dyes. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Must be available to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm. Weekends may be included. Essential Functions: 1. Performs diagnostic procedures under the prescription of the physician. 2. Analyzes patient's general condition to best determine examination approach. 3. Reviews procedure with patient; answers questions and addresses concerns. 4. Follows all magnetic resonance safety standards, examines patients screening form to ensure safety. 5. Compiles accurate patient information screening sheets, worksheets, labs, previous MRI reports, and Op reports for safety review prior to scanning. 6. Review patient attire and do final safety screening before entering the scan room. 7. Demonstrates skill with vein puncture and attention to detail. 8. Monitors patient carefully throughout injection and after for any type of adverse reaction. 9. Utilizes skills and knowledge of parameters and sequences to provide a quality diagnostic image/exam. 10. Complete and finalize all documentation to maintain patient files without omissions. 11. Other duties as assigned. Competencies: 1. Ability to work effectively with patients, staff and managers. 2. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 3. Ability to exercise independent judgment using a wide degree of creativity and latitude. 4. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and patients. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional manner with patients, staff and managers. This role routinely uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. May stand and sit for long periods of time. Required Education and Experience: 1. Graduate of an ARRT accredited school or registry eligible or ARMRIT board certified. 2. Training specific to the operation of MRI scanner and performing MRI scans. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $35 - $47 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
