Job Description
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for
databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist
in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the
developing, debugging or designing of software applications or
operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software
developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to
existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent
judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have
project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS
degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4
years of software engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Systems Architect here at Oracle Oracle Cerner you will
determine systems architectural design, lead build activities and
technical support responsibilities. You will manage projects and
support queues for solutions and services, consult with other teams
for incident resolution and proactive solutions. You will analyze,
troubleshoot, and improve system performance, while managing the
relationship with support teams and acting as point of contact for
support escalations. As a Senior Systems Architect you will
diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot technical problems to resolve
issues along with mentoring junior members of team.
People Management Responsibilities (for associates with one or more
direct reports):
Seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard
and facilitate a plan for resolution.
Delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and
follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify
associates and team priorities based on business direction and
adjust when needed.
Lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates
and team. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate
for your team, create accountability and recognize
accomplishments.
Provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability
and connect opportunities for your associates' development.
Identify the right talent to achieve the desired results. Promote
and build a diverse and cohesive team to accomplish objectives and
align associates' skills to fill gaps.
Basic Qualifications
At least 8 years total combined related work experience and
completed higher education, including:
At least 2 years system administration and/or system engineering
work experience
At least 6 years additional work experience directly related to the
duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or
equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with shell scripting on both Windows and/or Linux
platforms.
Experience managing production systems running Linux and/or
UNIX
Experience managing production systems running Windows
Experience with config-as-code solutions like Chef
Experience with a public cloud provider such as AWS, OCI, or
Azure
Familiarity with Oracle database connectivity
Ability to work with multiple clients simultaneously
Expectations
May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network
equipment
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Willing to travel up to 80% as needed
Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed
by local regulations
Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security
policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding
corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent
and report any compromises of security within scope of position

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific
to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $95,900 to $192,000 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $77,700 to $172,800 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $90,600 to $182,400 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $93,100 to $182,400 per annum. May be
eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to
account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market
conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products,
industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the
preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
